We’re Lookin UP! ^
It’s definitely taken some time to get where we are today with Million Dollar Race Boat, but we’ve enjoyed every bit of it. We don’t have enough money for a boat yet, but we haven’t lost the determination or the drive. We would like to thank all of the sponsors you see on the home page along with Powerboat Magazine, H20 Full Throttle Magazine, Offshore Super Series and more..
Opportunities seem to pop up every where, about a month ago a full factory powerboat company and auto company offered to sponsor us for a four month tour around the nation. The job entailed running in as many poker runs we can squeeze into a four month jog around the nation. On our drive time we would stop by marina’s and car dealerships as well as different races and other major events. All expenses paid and a guaranteed great time for the both of us. Beleive me when I say we thought about it, but reality set in…
This would be an incredible opportunity if the both of us were right out of college, but unfortunately we recently started a Mortgage Shop here in Sarasota and have mortgages to pay on properties that we own along with other bills that we all feel are never ending.
So if there are any other companies looking to sponsor… You know where to find us. We’re always looking up!!!
With 23 boats racing in the Offshore Super Series’ first race, Biloxi was sure to have one of the best races in a very long time. Every class had a battle for first! In my dad’s class (850 SC Cats - Joey Gratton, Throttleman of the 31 boat) there were three boats, and talk about a hell of a race. Each boat were within seconds of each other. The WHM boat was leading most of the race with my dad (Hard Rock Casino) being a close second, but after WHM broke, my dad moved into first. Finishing the race in first was a major acheivement, but unfortunatley the boat weighed in 20 lbs too light. The boat was supposed to weigh 10,000 lbs but it came in at 9,980 lbs. Overall it was a great experience for the team because the boat was brand new with only about 45 minutes of test time. They love the boat and the handling, so it looks like it’s going to be a good year for them. It’s going to be an extremely competitive class and rumors are that there should be more boats joining the class in the near future.
So we’ve got the first race this weekend in Biloxi, Mississippi and unfortunately we’ll be sitting on the sidelines without a race boat. This weekend is going to be a lot of fun, we’ll find out who has been testing during the off season and who’s going to be the team to beat the rest of the season. My dad, Joey Gratton and Steve Page will be out there in the new 850 class with their new 388 Skater so it should be an interesting weekend. They just finished rigging it and will be testing this week in Panama, City. The 850 class is going to be a learning class for a lot of boats, but in my opinion I think Team CRC is going to be the boat to beat since they’ve already got the boat set up for the 1075’s. Anyway, Brock and I are back in action with scoring and running the pace boat so that should be fun. Other than that we’ve got Red Monkey entertainment continuing to film the reality TV show, so you know there’s going to be plenty of drama. I’ll be sure to post how our weekend went when we get back. So make sure you check back next week.
It’s Wednesday, February 7th and Brock and I are sitting in our new office at Gratton Mortgage Group, extremely excited about all the things that are happening around us. We just got word that the March Issue of Powerboat Magazine just came out and it has the two page article about Brock and I. We haven’t received the Magazine yet but we’re hoping to get it soon so we can see what is written about us. The team has received a number of e-mails and phone calls already from friends and fans, and we appreciate all of it.
What’s up everyone… we’re going to start getting this website rolling again so make sure you keep coming back to check out our updates and what we’re up to. This year our goal is to sell as much ad space as we possibly can. There’s three of us woking on it, my brother Brock, my friend Jimmy, and then myself. Right now we’re sending up some girls t-shirts to our printer to get the logos put on and then we’re going to give them to all of our local girls here in Sarasota so that we can spread the word. We’re also updating our MillionDollarRaceBoat.com myspace so that it’s more attractive and we’re going to add as many friends as we can so that more people know about what we’re doing. Other than that we’re just spreading the word and getting things going for the new year.
